Contrasts can be used as an interesting - and also an extremely tiresome - ingredient for songwriting. Where many artists falter and fail, Spiritbox succeeds. They succeeded on Eternal Blue and continue with Rotoscope, an EP so rich in contrast it could be seen as the quintessence of its predecessor: the eponymous track is groovy and boppy, almost seems EBM-influenced; the centerpiece comes in a pop-disguise and the closer is downright a wolf in a sheep's clothing. Excellent.
Favorite track: Rotoscope.
